The surrounding area offers many charming villages/towns and interesting places to visit.
Lauzun. (10minutes)
Pretty medieval town with narrow lanes
leading to the chateau. It has a couple
of restaurants, bakery, butchers, tourist
information, small lake and picnic areas.
Miramont de Guyenne (10 minutes)
This has a busy market on Monday mornings and variety of little shops as well as banks, supermarket, tourist information, cycle hire, pharmacy, restaurants and bars.
Eymet (20 minutes)
A walled bastide town. The square and its arcades house several good alfresco eating places including a good Italian restaurant. Lively popular market on Thursday mornings and night markets during the summer months.
Duras (20 minutes)
The castle and its village are of great historical and architectural interest.
Bergerac (40 minutes)
The Dordogne River crosses the town; it is Cyrano’s home town and boasts a delightful old port, half timbered houses and internationally renowned food and wines. Bergerac offers old town character as well as modern shopping.
Other places well worth a visit are:
St Emillion, Issigeac, Monpazier, Monflanquin, Villereal, Castillonnes, Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Penne-d’Agenais to name but a few.
